Sometimes You Have to Do Something That Scares You

You take a deep breath, quiet the noise in your head, and you go.

Maybe it's starting a business.

Maybe it's signing up for a race you've convinced yourself you're not ready for.

Maybe it's asking someone out.

Maybe it's leaving the security of a job to chase the life you've always imagined.

Whatever it is, the feeling is usually the same.

Fear.

The difference between the people who build extraordinary lives and everyone else isn't that they're fearless. It's that they don't let fear make the decision.

Nobody is coming to build your dream life for you.

Here are 5 ways to move through fear and take action.

1. Stop waiting to feel ready.

Confidence doesn't come before action. It comes because of action. Start before you feel prepared.

2. Bet on yourself.

Most people spend their lives waiting for permission. Give yourself permission. Back yourself before anyone else does.

3. Make peace with failure.

Failure isn't the opposite of success. It's tuition. Every successful person has paid it.

4. Shrink the moment.

Don't think about the next five years. Think about the next five minutes. One phone call. One email. One workout. One conversation.

5. Remember what's at stake.

The biggest risk isn't failing. The biggest risk is waking up ten years from now wondering what could have happened if you had just gone for it.

Life rewards people who move.

Not people who wait.

Your dream life isn't built in one giant leap. It's built every time you choose courage over comfort.

Go. Your future self is waiting.
