There Will Be a Last Time
There is going to be a last time for everything.
The last drive to practice.
The last long ride to that tournament.
The last time you tie their cleats.
The last time you tape their hockey stick.
The last time they ask you to lay with them before bed.
The last time they play with that same group of friends.
You won’t know when it’s happening.
That’s the part nobody tells you.
It just… happens.
And then it’s gone.
This isn’t about getting emotional.
This isn’t about slowing everything down.
But it is about awareness.
It is about presence.
Because in the middle of the chaos with the schedules, the stress, the rushing from one thing to the next you can miss it.
These are the moments.
Not the championships.
Not the highlights.
Not the posts.
The in between.
The car rides.
The conversations.
The quiet moments no one else sees.
So every now and then
pause.
Get real, stay out a little later in the back yard, take another free kick or ground ball.
Look at what’s right in front of you.
Because one day you would give anything to have that moment back.
And the truth is....
You still have it right now.
