Someday Has an Expiration Date

Time makes me nervous because I know how easily “not today” becomes “not anymore.”

We’ll get in shape when work settles down. Start the business when we feel ready. Change our lives when the timing makes sense.

We mean it. Then we say it again next year.

Meanwhile, we get better at living a life we keep saying we want to change.

Be careful how comfortable you become with your own disappointment.

You can get used to feeling exhausted. Breaking promises to yourself. Watching other people attempt the things you keep talking about.

Eventually, you might call it acceptance when you’ve simply stopped trying.

You cannot control every outcome. You can take responsibility for today’s effort.

Train. Build. Apply. Have the uncomfortable conversation. Give the dream an actual place in your schedule.

What would change today if you took your own ambition seriously?

You don’t need to transform your entire life this morning. You need to follow through on one decision that moves it forward.

Someday has an expiration date. You just don’t get to see it.

Nothing changes if nothing changes.
