Do you operate inside or outside of the circle?

One of the most difficult things in life is learning to live and function efficiently inside the circle. But what is this circle? Inside the circle represents what’s in my control, while outside the circle represents what’s out of my control. For much of my life, especially before my 30s, I spent too many years living outside of the circle, disconnected from who I wanted to be and failing to show up for myself in the way I deserved.

Business & Markets Update

It was a whirlwind of a week, a week that felt more like a month.  Highlighting the deteriorating ‘Breadth’ in the US equity market in the last write-up was topical, because the sole focus of this past week was BAD BREADTH, particularly the first 4 days.  The S&P 500 saw a larger number of decliners (stocks that went down) than gainers (stocks that went up) for 14 STRAIGHT SESSIONS before a fairly notable bounce on Friday.

Interview with John Gagliardi

What was the inspiration of Kane Footwear?

Playing sports my whole life in College, then professionally and Team USA I have been around top athletes in the locker rooms and I saw what everyone was wearing on their feet after practices and games. I saw these same slides when I visited my friends at NFL facilities.

From Party Guy to Purpose-Driven: How Chasing a Different Feeling Transformed My Life

As the Co-Founder of the renowned mega sports bar brand The Ainsworth, I lived the ultimate party lifestyle for years. While I never struggled with drugs or alcohol, partying was woven into the fabric of my job. Business & Markets Update

Markets (finally) took a breather this past week with the S&P 500 trading -0.65%, which puts the index up 0.30% month-to-date halfway through December.  There was plenty to process in terms of corporate news flow (see Top Reads below) and economic data, but we find ourselves in a bit of a holding pattern headed into the Dec 18th Fed meeting, despite a 25 basis point cut feeling like a sure thing.

Business & Markets Update

Well… It was another week in the green for US stocks, that makes 3 in a row.  The rally seemed to be driven by optimism around the Federal Reserve lowering interest rates later this month (Dec 18th), but also notable outperformance from the technology sector, especially AI-related stocks.  Overall positive sentiment in markets has been the theme these last handful of weeks.

Why is Sleep Important?

Interview with Todd Anderson

Sleep is the cornerstone of health, longevity, and optimal performance. It is during sleep that the body undergoes critical processes like cellular repair, memory consolidation, and hormonal regulation, all of which are essential for physical and mental well-being. For high performers, whether in sports, business, or life, prioritizing sleep is non-negotiable. Without adequate rest, even the most disciplined training, nutrition, or strategy can falter, as fatigue impairs decision-making, reduces energy levels, and increases the risk of burnout.

Business & Markets Update

*Public markets are on a tear, with 7 of the last 8 trading sessions higher across major US indices.  Tariff concerns from the Trump administration have been a go-to talking point this week, which initially lifted the US Dollar and pushed treasury yields higher, but the equity markets have largely gone higher despite that, as most inflation data points from the last couple of months have kept rate fears subdued.

Magnesium: What’s the Deal?

Interview with Dr. Jamie Schehr-Robinson

Magnesium is essential in more than 300 enzymes in the body including muscle and nerve function and energy production.

Low Magnesium levels rarely cause symptoms, however taking magnesium may improve how you feel from reduced muscle cramping, improved sleep, decreased anxiety and stress, PMS, management, and improved bowel movements. This does not mean everyone should go take magnesium because in excess magnesium can be dangerous to take.
